Privacy Policy 

The Cliq Connection (referred to as “us”, “we” or “our”) manages personal information (solicited and unsolicited) in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 Cth and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).  

Your security and privacy are of utmost importance to us. At First Step Solutions, we are committed to protecting our client’s right to privacy.  

 
We do not sell, rent, share, or trade the information we collect. We uphold our systems to ensure that information is secure and managed by the most updated policy. We do not send information overseas or to telemarketers. 
 
What is your personal information?  

The Privacy Act defines ‘personal information’ as: ‘information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable:  

  • Whether the information or opinion is true or not; and  

  • Whether the information or opinion is recorded in a material form or not. 

The type of information that we typically collect, and hold is information that is necessary to perform our services to you.  
 

What is “Sensitive information”?  
Sensitive information is a subset of personal information. The Privacy Act defines ‘sensitive information’ as information or an opinion about a person’s:  

  • racial or ethnic origin   

  • political opinions or membership of a political association  

  • religious beliefs or affiliations  

  • philosophical beliefs  

  • membership of a professional association or trade association  

  • union membership  

  • sexual orientation or practices  

  • criminal record  

  • health or genetic information  

  • biometric information and templates 

 
 
In line with Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), we will only collect sensitive information if it is relevant and for the program or service that has been requested.  
 

  

The kinds of personal information collected and held by The Cliq Connection 

 

We collect and hold a variety of personal information relating to: 

  • Your contact information (email address, postal address & phone numbers).  

  • Your Date of Birth.  

  • Relevant information on your NDIS plan in relation to billing and invoicing. 

  • Information about your personal circumstances (for example, marital status, age, gender and relevant information about your partner and children) 

  • Your health (including information about your medical history or a family member’s medical history) where relevant. 

  • Information about your background (for example, educational qualifications, the languages you speak and your English proficiency) 

  • Your racial or ethnic origin where it is relevant in determining eligibility for a program or where requested to assist in better targeting access to our programs. 

  • Your lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, and/or intersex status where you elect to answer this field in applying for a program 

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information we collect about you is accurate, up-to-date, complete, relevant, and not misleading. 
 

Methods of collection 

We collect personal information about you through a range of different channels including: 

  • Paper-based and electronic forms (including online forms).  

  • Facetoface meetings. 

  • Databases. 

  • Telephone, email, and facsimile communications. 

  • Our websites (including online portals). 

  • Social media websites and accounts. 

 

Purposes for which personal information is used and disclosed 
  • Contracted service providers responsible for performing the functions or assisting The Cliq Connection to perform the functions. 

  • Personal information may be used to undertake fraud and compliance investigations  

  • Frist Step Solutions may use or disclose personal information to third party organisations for the purpose of the service provided to you. 

  • Your personal information may be disclosed to auditors. 

 

Disclosure of personal information overseas  

We disclose personal information to overseas recipients in limited circumstances. The exception to this is where the disclosure may be required because of services provided to you through overseas programs. 

 

In addition to the above table, we may disclose your personal information as required or authorised by or under a law or court order or where otherwise allowed under the Privacy Act and the APPs. 

 

 
Purposes for which personal information is collected 
– To verify your identity.  
– To complete referral forms and other relevant documents needed for program delivery. 
– To assess eligibility and which programs are suited to your needs.  
– To assign a coach or program that can meet your needs.  
– To assist in a streamlined approach to service delivery. 
– To create a network of providers in place to ensure we are all working together to assist you with your goals/support.  
– When required, we may contact debt collectors and other third parties on your behalf.  
– Any other matters reasonably necessary to facilitate the primary purpose for which the personal information was collected.  
 

Internet Security.  

Due to the nature of the internet, The Cliq Connection cannot guarantee the safety of your information. The Cliq Connection will endeavour to have all reasonable and relevant processes and securities in place to protect your information and its integrity, however that safety cannot be guaranteed. 
 

When we are aware of or are informed of any unauthorised use of personal information or other parties having access to your information without consent, we will take all reasonable measures to investigate and rectify the issue.
